JEFF'S JOURNAL

AUGUST, 2009

Florida, Chicago, Washington, D.C, Lexington, Montana....

We are moving as fast as jets and well - designed combustive engines on modern super-highways can take us!!  I will give a more detailed account of our travel adventures in the next newsletter, when we finish our Hostetter USA Summer Tour, 2009.  So far - so good.  Sherrie has had both knees operated on in Greenville, N.C and is doing therapy every week to recover as much mobility as possible.  Her left knee, which was the first, has 132% flexibility already, after one month. Although enduring much pain, she did a 2500 road trip to Michigan, Chicago, Kentucky and back to North Carolina, where we are based at her parents’ house!!  She is tough and dedicated to the task of building the worldwide temple, the body of Christ, His church worldwide.  She is my hero(ine)!

Family Reunion

We are super-grateful that all of our natural born children and their spouses, except Attah, were able to assembly at Sherrie's parent’s house this past week.  We were treated like royalty by the Son Rise Church of Christ, based on the beach near Kitty Hawk.  Sherrie's brother Greg and wife Debbie, and two grown children also were especially hospitable.  What a joy to have all the grandchildren from India and Africa together for one wonderful week.

Thanks be to God.  It is our desire that together in perfect unity, we will all serve King Jesus in building the true Ark of Salvation, the Lord's church, as Noah's family did in their day. Many thanks to Sherrie's parents, who hosted all of us and had a grand pig-pickin at their house.  Fifty attended this event!

Good food, good fellowship. This was Jessica's first visit to America in 6 years!  Only lasting two weeks, she and Zion enjoyed each minute of renewal and reacquainting and some Dairy Queen, a childhood favorite.

I was especially grateful and excited when Jeremiah, Binoy and I all preached and shared about missions with many different area churches on the same Lord's Day!  That is a legacy that can give God the glory He desires through Jesus Christ.

Special Business News

1. Shipping Costs: We will be shipping out goods from Greenville, N.C, at the Christ's Church building on September 13th.  Many have started donating these goods to us and bringing them to that location.  We are getting things for our married couples in Ghana who have so little.  Things like furniture, food, medical and school supplies and so forth. We also have some onetime expenses related to the cost of shipping.  The 40ft. container will be around $5000, and then we have trucking costs, plus the clearing from the port, and some taxes, with an estimated total onetime cost of $6000.  So far, one church has offered us $1000 of this amount, so we need more donations.  Please help, with faith that investing in God's kingdom work during this recession is the best investment of all. We appreciate you help so much!

2. Sherrie's Knees:  If the feet of those who spread gospel are beautiful, then so are the knees that move them!  Please keep them in prayer for full recovery, and remember that all her therapy and out of hospital meds, is not covered by our insurance policy.

3. Small Car Costs:  Instead of wasting thousands of dollars renting a car for three months, we bought one, a fuel efficient 2005 Dodge Sebring with only 42,000 miles for $8000 (including registration, licensing, etc).  This will greatly enhance our work in Ghana, as we now only have one vehicle.  We made a down payment of $2500, and must pay the rest before shipping it out.  Any help is much appreciated.

I must keep this short.  The library in Roper where I am typing it only allows one hour on the computer. If there are any questions about this report, just call us:  252-793-9067.  Or contact us through this email account.

Keep shining brightly wherever God has placed you, dear saints!

In Christ,

Jeff and Sherrie
